Leslie Ivie, a founding member of the Company, was also a founder and Chief Operating Officer of Gas Clip Technologies, Inc.. Prior to founding F3, he was Chief Technology Officer at Honeywell International. Mr. Ivie was instrumental in selling Zürich-based Zellweger Analytics AG to Honeywell International and the later purchase of First Technologies Plc by Honeywell International. He was also Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer of Zellweger Luwa AG in Switzerland after serving as Executive Vice President for Research and Development at Zellweger Uster AG in Switzerland. He served as a board member and later Chairman of the Board for Textillio AG, based in Zürich. Mr. Ivie held a variety of positions at United Technologies Corporation, including Director of the Escalator Business Unit for Otis Elevator Company. Mr. Ivie holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Economics. In addition, he graduated from the University of Denver with a Master of Business Administrations. Mr. Ivie holds patents for gas analyzer apparatus and methods of analyzing gases and is an inventor of several pending patents in molecular diagnostics.
Bruce Taylor, chief operating officer & Board Member
Bruce Taylor has been the Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Amacs Process Tower Internals, a Houston based manufacturer or static equipment for process industries since 2011. He also served as CEO from 2012 to 2015. Prior to Amacs, Mr. Taylor was Chairman of the Board and President of Global Thermoelectric, Inc., a Calgary based designer and manufacturer of high reliability remote power systems for oil and gas, telecommunications, and security applications.
Previously, Mr. Taylor was an equity partner with Cortec Group, Inc., a middle market private equity firm, where he provided strategy and operational guidance for investment decisions and for portfolio companies. Prior to Cortec, he was Senior Vice President & Group Executive – Automotive for Eaton Corporation. At Eaton Mr. Taylor held general management and marketing positions in the automotive sector in North America and Europe. Earlier in his career he was a strategy consultant with Mars & Co in Europe and the United States and was a US Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines. Mr. Taylor holds a BSBA from American University and an MBA from Harvard University where he was a Baker Scholar. Mr. Taylor is on the boards of ASM Holdco, which is a powdered metal products manufacturer, as well as F Cubed®, LLC.
Dr. Edward J. Karban, chief financial officer & Board Member
Dr. Edward J. Karban graduated from Temple University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Karban is a practicing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Connecticut. He also holds the position of Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Dentistry. In addition to his medical background, Dr. Karban has extensive business experience, serving on the boards of several companies involved in new product development including creation of an anti-glare screen. Karban’s financial acumen has been further enhanced through serving on the boards of several real estate companies, managing regional malls, as well as development of multi and single-family residential complexes.
Dr. Karban is the Owner and President of The Hope Center for Rehabilitation, and The Relapse Prevention Center, Drug and Alcohol treatment facilities in Boynton Beach, Florida. Dr. Karban is also Owner and Managing Member of Magnolia Place LLC, a real estate company that provides housing for Drug and Alcohol patients.
Upon completion of his Residency, he obtained a real estate agent license and then his broker’s license in New Jersey and has taken advanced courses in taxes, finance, and accounting. He currently serves on the board of a residential condominium complex in Florida and is a managing partner of EJK Services, a real estate management company in Hartford, Connecticut and JME Services, a real estate services company in Waterbury, Connecticut. Dr. Karban is also an Owner and President of K&G Enterprises, which owns and operates a retail jewelry store in Avon, Connecticut.
Dr. Alex wang, chief development officer
Dr. Alex Wang, PhD, is Chief Development Officer, bringing 15 years of experience in life sciences research and corporate management consulting. For the past six years, he has been managing complex projects for some of the most innovative Fortune 500 firms. Dr. Wang worked as a senior management consultant at Ernst & Young Life Sciences Consulting Division (New York City), project executive for Pfizer & Co. (New York City), project manager at Mt. Sinai Hospital (New York City), and project manager at Zhongxin Pharmaceuticals (Tianjin, China). In his spare time, Dr. Wang serves as a professional interpreter for Chinese hospital presidents and manages their network events with American hospital executives.
Dr. Wang received his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, his MS from Peking University, and his MBA from University of Notre Dame.

Dr. Susan Alpert, PhD, MD, recently retired as Senior Vice President and Chief Quality and Regulatory Officer for Medtronic Corporation, a position she held from 2005. She was responsible for all Medtronic quality, regulatory, and clinical compliance efforts, including overseeing health policy and payment. Previously, Dr. Alpert was Vice President for Regulatory Affairs and Compliance for C.R. Bard, Inc., where she was Vice President of Regulatory Sciences. She was on the board of the Food Drug Law Institute (FDLI), a forum through which the FDA and the legal, business, academic, and consumer communities exchange perspectives on public policy, law, and regulation related to products subject to FDA jurisdiction. Before joining Bard,
Dr. Alpert served at the FDA, where she held a variety of positions in the Centers, including six years as the Director of the Office of Device Evaluation. She is a microbiologist and pediatrician with a specialty in infectious diseases and has practical experience in laboratory research and clinical trials.

Mr. Bruce Alton Brock served as Chief Executive Officer, President and Managing Director of AEG Power Solutions from January 2005 to August 1, 2010. Mr. Brock serves as the President of Saft Power Systems B.V. He is a proven executive with over 35 years of experience in creating shareholder value within various industrial and technology based businesses.
Mr. Brock is known in the industry as a visionary leader with significant proven turnaround skills. Over 4 years, Mr. Brock has led his management team in turning around the business both operationally and financially. Prior to AEG Power Solutions’ responsibility, Mr. Brock formed the Brock Group and was its partner, a power electronics technology and strategic leader.
Mr. Hal Gutterman is a founding member of F Cubed®, LLC. Hal was also a senior consultant to Honeywell International, tasked with identifying technology opportunities. Prior to his effort with Honeywell, Hal was a Senior Vice President with Intelligent Optical Systems and Optical Security Sensing. He was instrumental in securing Congressional support for a number of their technology programs, as well as securing contracts with NASA, NIH, DARPA, NSF and TSWG. Mr. Gutterman spent ten years in Israel as Director of Operations for Raphael Advanced Defense Systems, Ltd.
Stephen R. Hardis
Mr. Stephen R. Hardis served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman at Eaton Corporation. He held the position from September 1995 to July 31, 2000. Mr. Hardis served as an Executive Vice President of Finance and Planning for Sybron Corporation and he was associated with General Dynamics Corporation.
Mr. Hardis is a member of the Advisory Board at Aquiline Capital Partners LLC. He serves as a Trustee of The Musical Arts Association (Cleveland Orchestra) and Cleveland Clinic. Mr. Hardis has been the Non-Executive Chairman at Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. since May 2006. Mr. Hardis served as Chairman of the Board of Axcelis Technologies, Inc., from May 2000 to May 2006. He has been a Director of American Greetings, and Nordson Corporation. He serves as a Director of Progressive Insurance, Lexmark International, Inc., and Steris Corporation. Mr. Hardis serves as a Director of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (hospital).
Bryan Kocen is Treasurer and Founder of F Cubed, LLC. In addition, he is President and Founder of The Kocen Financial Group, Inc., a Registered Investment Advisor with offices in Rancho Mirage and San Diego, California, as well as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is also the President and Registered Principal of Financial Goal Securities, Inc., a private placement broker/dealer. Bryan is a past President of The Alliance of Independent Broker Dealers.
Bryan’s credentials include Certified Financial Planner™, FINRA General Securities Principal, FINRA Financial and Operations Principal, and FINRA General Securities Representative. Bryan has an MBA in Finance from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is also a graduate of Union College where he earned his BA in Managerial Economics (Magna Cum Laude). Bryan is on the Executive Board of Directors of The Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies and has previously served on the board of The Jewish Federation of Palm Springs and Desert Areas. He is currently a Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 707 and on the Executive Board of the California Inland Empire Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Joel Kocen is currently an investment counselor for Kocen Financial Group, Inc. Until 2004, Mr. Kocen was President and Registered Principal of Financial Goal Securities, Inc., in Rancho Mirage, California. Mr. Kocen previously served Chief Financial Officer of Kerr Glass Manufacturing, a company that produced approximately six billion glass containers per year. In 1980 he joined The Gleason Corporation as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Kocen served in a variety of capacities at Sybron Corporation, including Tax Director, Assistant Controller, and eventually Treasurer of this global technology company. Mr. Kocen was Tax Counsel at The Anaconda Co. in New York, and prior to that assignment was a tax accountant and lawyer for Reynolds Metals Co. Mr. Kocen began his career in the private practice of law.
